NEW Email Activation Procedure for Unlocking the CD effective September 1

You need an internet connection and a valid email account to perform activation.

Note that we only activate CDs purchased through our authorized distributors, which are Airsplat, Begadi, and Redwolf. If you bought the CDs from somewhere else we may not be able to help. Second handed CDs will NOT be activated. CD received as a free gift with no proof of purchase will NOT be activated too.  The bottom line is, in order to maintain the integrity of the activation mechanism and defeat fraudulent activation attempts, each validly purchased CD will be activated once and only once.

Step 0:

Before trying to activate, please make sure your system meets the very basic requirement. View the list of requirement here as Flash document.

All codes are vendor specific. In order to get you the correct unlock key you must have an email copy of your purchase receipt handy.

Insert the CD into your CDROM drive. The ebook should automatically start. If it does not, browse the CD and click on the .exe file to get started.

* The ebook program runs on Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista.

You will see a screen like the one shown below.  The first two lines will say "Thank you for evaluating this software. The evaluation period has expired." Don't panic, once you have the CD unlocked you will not see this screen again.

Click on the bottom link which says "You can also request an un-lock key by email". Do NOT click "Buy a serial number online" as you are already given a serial number if your CD is a legitimate copy.

Key in the serial number that comes with your CD. Check the CD envelope and you will find a serial number. The serial number may look something like pzFJN-33wF4-B8F6d-BYf7Q-Pfn3N-43FDm ... Don't confuse this with the unlock key. This serial number is simmply the code for generating the activation request, not the unlock key itself.
 

Also key in your name (the name you use for making the purchase) and your email address. Always double check and make sure you have supplied us a valid email address. When finished, click on the bottom link which says "Request un-lock key by email - send email".

The serial number is CASE SENSITIVE. Don't mix up 0 with O, even though they do look highly alike when printed. Typo is the number one cause of activation error. If you type in the serial number correctly the entire activation process should be error free.

Keep your serial number AND your purchase invoice/receipt. You will need them as your proof of purchase and for obtaining future updates.

Your email client software will be called up for the email to be sent. For this to work there has to be a default email client software configured on your PC (most PCs come pre-configured with a default email client software like Outlook Express, Eudora ...etc so you shouldn't need to worry about this at all). Web based email services like Hotmail, gmail ...etc may not work with the activation function.

You should see something like this:

Do NOT change any of these contents. Click the Send button of your email client software to send the email.

*** If you do NOT have a regular working email account but just a hotmail kind of web based account, please click HERE.

After this email is sent, forward us your entire purchase receipt. We need the unique purchase receipt number for verification and key generation.

It usually takes us 24 hours to validate your request and send you an unlock key.

If you are using Yahoo mail, or if you have a spam filter installed, please make sure you check the spam folder - sometimes our reply emails got directed over there for unknown reasons................

When you receive our unlock key through email (which looks something like O8Cuf-G1UF4-LdExP-CSjTm-Wb6gP-4gFTz), repeat Step 1.

Important: the computer that takes the unlock key must be the computer that had generated the corresponding activation request. You cannot use the unlock key on a separate computer.

On the lower left hand corner, click on the link that says "Show license information".

Click on the button which says "Activation Key".

Copy and paste the unlock key into the field and click OK.

Please copy and paste. Don't type in the code. Paste it in. Typo is the number one source of activation error!

While it's straightforward to copy the key from the email, one must then click on the dialogue box and use the keyboard command CTRL + V to paste it there.

"The registration key has been applied successfully"

Congratulations! Activation is completed and you will no longer need to perform registration again. 

Now click the Close button on the lower right hand corner. Close the application entirely and then restart it again (see Step 1). This time you will be able to go straight into the ebook.

Please make a hard copy of the ebook by printing it out. This is the best way to ensure you won't lose access to the contents in case your computer stops working.

Security reminder:

The license is permanently attached to your computer. Every time you run the CDROM you must run it on this same computer. The computer from which the activation request is generated is the computer that can legitimately run the ebook program. The unlock key is unique to your specific computer so if you borrow an unlock key from someone else the activation process will fail with an error message saying something like:

"The Activation Key does not belong to this license file (copy protection parameter does not match)!"

If you frequently change the configuration of your computer we recommend that you PRINT OUT a hard copy of the ebook. Every time you change certain configuration on your computer you may need to reactivate, which could take lots of time and resources to process.

Activation Questions & Answers

Question: In my line of work, I am generally replacing my pc every 30 days, and I am concerned about purchasing your product after reading that it only works on the original pc activated on.

Answer: We suggest that you print out a hard copy from the product so that you can read it even without access to any pc. 

Question: Can you send me activation code if I bought the CD from my friend?

Answer: The user license for the CD is never transferable. We will not be able to send you unlock code unless you purchase directly from our distributors.

Question: I was wondering that in two months I will be selling this computer and buying a new one. Can I do the same activation request process again?

Answer: Due to concern on fraudulent activation attempt and free rider abuse,  we can only perform activation once per validly purchased CD. So if you will be using a new computer in the near future, please make a hard copy of the ebook now to ensure you won't lose access to the contents.

Question: I have sent several e-mails to you guys and no one has respond. A call would be appreciated since I have sent at lease 4 or 5 e-mails with no response, and I have been checking my bulk email box.

Answer:  If you emailed us 4 to 5 times in the last 60 minutes without getting a response, chance is that you won't get any response from anyone on earth that fast. Most of the time we answer all emails in less than 12 hours. This is a pretty fast turnaround time in the online world. If you expect instant feedback from us, fly over to our office and talk to us during office hours :) 

On the other hand, if you emailed us 4 to 5 times in the last several days without getting a response, please check your email configuration. We do not even have junk filter installed on our email server so there must be something seriously wrong with the email settings on your side. You thought your emails were sent but in fact they were not (or they were sent to somewhere else).
